Nicole Poindexter chosen as Principal at HMS
HOPKINSVILLE, KY (December 7, 2021). On Tuesday, CCPS hired Nicole Poindexter as principal of Hopkinsville Middle School. As the HMS principal, Poindexter will be responsible for the middle school’s teaching process and learning climate, school performance on state and national assessment standards, school guidelines for student conduct and discipline, school staff evaluations, school programs, supervision of school extracurricular activities, school budgets and school community relations. Poindexter will report directly to the CCPS superintendent.
“We are excited to have Nicole Poindexter as our principal at Hopkinsville Middle School,” said CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “Nicole’s student development skills are second to none. She is an ALL IN leader to help our middle school students reach their fullest potential.”
Poindexter began her teaching career in Christian County Public Schools as a special education teacher at Belmont Elementary. She later served the Christian County Board of Education as a guidance counselor before being hired as the assistant principal at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary. Poindexter later was appointed as an assistant principal at Hopkinsville High School. Poindexter has recently been serving CCPS as the interim principal of Hopkinsville Middle School.
